MONDAY NIGHT SEMINAR - March 10th, 2025
 on Zoom
Propaganda and Its Discontents:  Navigating the Cultural Landscape

Presented by:  Janis Huntoon, PhD
In this talk, Dr. Janis Huntoon will explore the ways in which propaganda affects us, our patients, and our work. To do this, Dr. Huntoon will focus on Jacque Ellul’s 1962 book, “Propaganda: The Formation of Men’s Attitudes”, to provide a framework for understanding the current propaganda landscape. She will then explore some of the conflicts we might experience as mental health providers who both shape and are targeted by propaganda; look at some of the internal representations and expressions of these external constructs; and discuss how to lessen the impact of these influences and regain a measure of cognitive freedom.
